Pay Attention OD Pros: Customer Experience May Replace You

Organizational Development.  There are specialized degrees in every business school across the globe furiously churning out business-centric consultants, strategists, managers and implementation specialists. 

In the future will Customer Experience, an enterprise methodology that includes employee and customer engagement to achieve loyalty, replace Organizational Development?

Customer Experience seems to include the same important practices as OD with the addition of creating a seat at the table for the customer. 

I would love to hear from Customer Experience and Organizational Development pros on what they think about this theory. 

Is it realistic to have CE replace an entire field?  Will OD quickly adjust to its best practices and make CE status quo within the next few years?
